     William “Max” Moffitt, 73, of Peoria, passed away at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at his residence.
     Max was born on March 27, 1939 in Carrier Mills, a son of William Marshal and Alice Lorene (Pyle) Moffitt. They preceded him in death. He married Linda Lee Brockmeyer on April 22, 1961 in Peoria. She survives.
     He is also survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Rich) Huffman of Dunlap and Robbin (Bob) Martin of East Peoria; son, Ronald Moffitt of Peoria; grandchildren, Rob, Bryon, Eric, Jacob, Lizzy and Mark; great grandchildren, Dominic, Max, Cooper, Olivia and Caylen; sisters, Gerry Hughes of Peoria and Mary (Aubrey) Ward of Indianapolis; and brother, Charles Moffitt of Peoria.
     Max was a foreman for Keystone Steel & Wire in Bartonville, retiring in 1998, after thirty-five years of service.
     He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from April 2, 1956 to February 25, 1960. He was a member of VFW Post 2602 in Peoria.
     In accordance with Max’s wishes, there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Max’s memory to VFW Post 2602 in Peoria or to the Navy Marine Club Ship 34 in Peoria Heights.
     Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.

Linda, Kim, Robbin, and Ronnie, I am so sorry for your loss.   There are lots of good memories from the years on Lawndale.  It's hard to lose a loved one at any time, but especially during the holidays.  I'll keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.  Marilee
